Create a Bold Striped Feature Wall
Achieve a striking blurred stripe effect by layering colors on your wall. Here’s how:
Materials needed:
- Base color (neutral recommended)
- Colors for stripes
- Medium paintbrush
- String
- Chalk
-
Paint the Base
Apply two coats of your chosen base color to create a solid canvas. -
Measure Your Design
Use chalk to mark where your striped feature wall design will begin and end. Adjust the size based on your preference (we based it on the bed width). -
Prepare Your String
Measure string to stretch between the marked points. Run chalk along the string and tape both ends to the marks on the wall. -
Create a Guideline
Pluck the string tight to leave a chalk mark along the wall, which will serve as your painting guide. -
Mark Out Your Design
Repeat the process at 50cm intervals to create the desired stripe layout. -
Start Painting
Use a small amount of paint on your brush and paint in long, sweeping strokes along the chalk guidelines to achieve a wispy effect. -
Finalize Your Design
Add as many colors as desired and vary the stripe widths using different brush sizes. Remember, keep the lines horizontal for a bold striped feature wall.
